Understanding Steep Times

Cold infusions generally need 15–30 minutes. Room-temperature blends develop flavour within 20 minutes. Warm infusions should steep briefly — around 10 minutes — to avoid overpowering delicate notes.

Start with less ingredient and adjust to taste. These recipes are starting points, not fixed formulas.

Subtle Enhancements

A pinch of mineral salt or a thin slice of citrus peel can shift the mouthfeel of plain water. Use sparingly.

Pinch of Sea Salt

Adds a rounded mineral note to room-temperature water. Use less than a quarter teaspoon per litre.

Citrus Peel Strip

One thin strip of unwaxed lemon or orange peel lends brightness without acidity from the juice.

Chilled River Stone

A clean, chilled stone in your glass keeps water cool and adds a tactile element to the ritual.
